Dear Friends,

As has seemingly become routine the last months, we have had to make a difficult decision to change our plans. The plans were to have a huge celebration in honor of India's life and her work with the Feathered Pipe Foundation and a big reunion of Feathered Pipe friends and family at the Ranch.

However, given the risks of travel and social contact in big groups, we are going to have an online live-stream celebration instead. All in-person events that were scheduled to take place at the Ranch July 2-5 are cancelled. We are hoping this relieves the fear of missing out for those who were not going to be able to attend and the anxiety of those who were weary about travel or gathering. Months ago we would have never even dreamed of doing it in this fashion, but now see the potential of how powerful and meaningful it can still be. Friends can tune in simultaneously from everywhere and remember India and her incredible contribution to the world.

We invite you to participate in the following ways:

Join us live online on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 10 am Mountain Time (16:00 UTC) for a celebration of India's extraordinary life through prayers, music, memories, and connection. Details soon to come! If you cannot attend, we will also have the event available to stream later.

Send a feather and a prayer flag (or prayer on paper) to Crystal Water, PO Box 103, Helena, MT 59624. Kindly send this as soon as you can. We will put the feathers out near where her ashes are spread and will read each prayer for you as we place your feather. The prayer flags will be strung and hung by the Stupa and the Peace Garden. This will bring your physical connection and spiritual sentiments directly to the Ranch, even when you can't be here in person. To complete the circle, we intend to send you back an aspen leaf from the Ranch and you can release that into your garden or any special place wherever you are. You can make your own prayer flag(s) by cutting a piece of cloth (cotton is the best) about 8 x 8 inches and with paint or fabric marker you can write a prayer and/or make a drawing. Try not to go to close to the top edge as we will double that over and sew it to attach to the string.

Donate to your local food bank. India LOVED feeding people. We will be donating food and/or money to our local food bank and organizations who feed hungry people with the money that we would have spent feeding the hundreds of people who would have been at the party. We have already done several "poor feedings" (as they are called in India), in Puttaparthi and Varanasi, India, after holding ceremonies for her in those places.

Come to the Ranch when the time is right. We'd of course love to see you when responsibly possible. You can come and honor India by doing a ceremony or prayer when you are at a workshop or passing through town. (Please contact us before coming.) Throughout the summer we will also have supplies for making prayer flags on hand for you to make if you are here. So far, we are planning to cautiously proceed with our summer retreats from mid-July onwards as long as it seems prudent. Montana is entering phase 2 of re-opening, expanding to allowed groups of up to 50 people. We are working on our protocols for social distancing and cleaning measures, so hopefully it will really be possible to proceed.

Continue to send us your stories and memories of India and Feathered Pipe Ranch. We are working on our ongoing archival project and would love to hear your stories. The best way to share your memory is to submit it through the website.

Join us the week of July 6-11 online for Feathered Pipe's 45th Anniversary LIVESTREAM Master Classes. In-lieu of our 45th anniversary celebration in-person, we are going to livestream mini-workshops from some of our favorite Feathered Pipe teachers. This will be by donation and will serve as a grand fundraiser for the Feathered Pipe Foundation. Generosity is encouraged and deeply appreciated. Details will be announced soon.

Last but not least, donate to the Feathered Pipe Foundation (or your favorite non-profit) in India's honor. The best way we see to celebrate India's life is to continue the amazing work she did through Feathered Pipe Foundation. Your kind donation will help us do that. Of course, these times are difficult for non-profit foundations everywhere and we know she would love it if you donated to any one of your favorite ones.

We will send out updates and reminders as we get closer to the time. In the meantime, enjoy VJ's joy-filled look back on life with India and another much-loved recipe from the Feathered Pipe Kitchen.

Be well. Sending you virtual hugs and kisses.

Love & hope,
Crystal Water
