Dearest Friends,
Melina and I have been teaching at the Ranch together now for many years, and the one thing we both love about leading retreats at Feathered Pipe Ranch in all the abundant natural beauty that is the Ranch.
We live on a busy street in a huge city in one of the most populated places on earth, so arriving at the Ranch with the only appreciable sounds being the changing winds and the babbling brook outside the teachers cabin is like landing in heaven! In years past, we have certainly honored the land by encouraging morning walks, and leading an evening jaunt up to Skye Farm for an unforgettable panoramic view of this impressive area. But this year, we are compelled, with the rapidly changing
reality for the earth, to connect more directly with this sacred place during our week-long retreat.
How, you may wonder, will we be doing that? Well, without letting all the cats out of the proverbial bag, we plan to spend more time actually in nature as we explore the power of yoga and Ayurveda, sitting in the shade of the Aspen grove at the
edge of the pond for some of our talks and gentle practices, leading more mindful walks with the group as part of our walking meditation practice, inviting those interested to create impermanent earth art as a deep connector to natural beauty, and even do some Forest Bathing! And, we will join our voices inside and outside the Sweat Lodge to pray for the land and all its people
and creatures.
IF you are like us, you are in need of a great, delicious dose of Nature and self care. This year’s retreat is shaping up to be an unforgettable one on both levels, and we hope to see many of you in Big Sky Country, August 10-17, for "Living Well: Yoga, Ayurveda And The Power Of Nature."
In great anticipation,
Baxter & Melina
P.S. Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in Nature and self care by inviting a friend, partner or loved one to join you. You BOTH save $100 with the "Bring a Friend" discount on any Feathered Pipe-hosted summer program!

Lauren Walker - "Energy Medicine Yoga" on J. Brown's "Yoga Talks"
Lauren Walker, creator of Energy Medicine Yoga, who graces the Feathered Pipe Ranch, August 24 - 31, with her week-long exploration into "The Hidden Power Of The Chakras." talks with J about energy healing and her circuitous path in yoga.
They discuss their shared history in NYC in the 90’s, Lauren’s departure from yoga and pursuit of other modalities, how politics and unforeseen events shaped her choices, connection with nature and developing primitive skills, Donna Eden, misunderstandings about chakras, and seeing past arbitrary limitations to reveal our inherent power and ability to heal.
