Dear Friends,

We have just launched the Feathered Pipe Message Board, a new forum on our website designed to help you connect directly with others attending programs at the Ranch.

This is a space to connect with fellow participants before your workshop, gather tips from those who have been before, and coordinate things like carpooling or pre- and post-retreat adventures. You can also use it to ask questions and explore topics related to your time at the Ranch.

We hope this grows into a lively and supportive hub for the Feathered Pipe community. In the near term, it may be especially helpful for coordinating travel, including exploring flight options beyond Helena.

How to join: To participate, you’ll need to be registered for a Feathered Pipe retreat program. We’ll be sending email invitations to all participants currently registered for 2026 retreats within the next few days. If you don’t receive an invitation, or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to eric@featheredpipe.com.

We’d love your participation and hope you’ll join in—sharing, connecting, and helping to cultivate the spirit of community that makes Feathered Pipe so special and that ripples so much good into our world.

The Quest to Know Self Via Un-Selfing – Annie Carpenter

One of the essential themes in the practice of Yoga is to follow the question: “Who am I?” Or, what is it in me that is lasting and ‘real’?

There is a path towards this inquiry that is age-old and for some of us it feels compulsory. This path is full of distractions and obstacles, and it is clear that many of us aren’t really interested enough to stay the course. Nor is it clear if there is an answer, a truth to be uncovered. Nonetheless, some of us are drawn to this quest even if there is no obvious solution or benefit.

Chioggia Beet Poke & Quinoa Bowl – Sam & Suzy

This variation on a Hawaiian classic was inspired by a locally grown Chioggia beet. One day, while examining a batch of pickled Chioggia beets, I had a realization that when steamed, peeled, cubed, and stained by a brine or marinade, these red and white striped root vegetables closely resemble tuna poke.
