Dear Friends,
Happy summer! The days are long and beautiful at Feathered Pipe and we have many exciting things to share with you this summer of our 50th anniversary.
50th Anniversary Celebration! July 18-20, 2025
Are you ready to celebrate this milestone with Feathered Pipe? Please RSVP here.
Among some of the super fun events during the weekend aside from eating and connecting with friends are: Storytime with Howard, belly dancing with Dondi and Titanya Dahlin, yoga with Nat Kendall and Lauren Lewis, mosaic art project with Susan Topf, hanging prayer flags with Karma Tensum, Drum Brothers under the aspens with the full ensemble, Meri Superak singing Medicine Wheel in honor of India, and DJ Brook Barngrover music and dancing.
Book Mural, Home of the Eternally Morphing Archives
Feathered Pipe has always been shaped not only by vision, but by the steady stream of love, talent, and generosity that shows up exactly when it’s most needed. Just recently, that spirit was beautifully alive in the creation of the new book mural to house our Eternally
Morphing Archives in the Main Room balcony—made possible by the donation of time, materials, and creative energy from our friend Thatcher Wine and his colleagues at Juniper Books. (I recommend checking out their work, making
curated libraries with customized book jackets.)
The book mural will house the archives including photos, brochures, art, poetry, and stories. It is a living and breathing work in progress and we’d like to include your story and memories too. It’s a great way to gather and share the many moments of growth,
learning, loving, and laughing that Feathered Pipe Friends have experienced through the years. You can contribute in these ways:
-- Fill in the online story form.
-- Email us with a story, poetry, and/or scanned art or photos. You can also send us a video and/or voice recording of your story.
-- Memory Station at the Ranch where you can create Ranch art, write, make a video message.
Feathered Pipe - 50 Years Book

This winter/spring we set about the task of creating a magazine about Feathered Pipe’s 50 years. It turned into a much bigger project than anticipated—you know the kind you would have never started on had you known how much work it would be, but you are grateful that you did and lived to see the day when it was complete. The 100+-page bookazine includes many photos from the sentimental to the hilarious, plus stories like how the Feathered Pipe Dream all began and where we are headed, how a guest
lost a gold ring in the lake only for it to be found three years later when the guest was back, and how Sri Elk made it back on the mantelpiece.
This summer, as a token of gratitude, we are giving each guest a complimentary copy of the soft cover bookazine. If you can’t make it here in person and would like to score one of these gems, here’s how to get one: donate $25 or more to the Feathered Pipe Forever Fund or 50th Fund, we will send a bookazine as a gift to US addresses, OR with donations of $250 or more we will send a limited edition hardcover version.
Donate here.
Another fun milestone is that it our sister organization—that began under the auspices of Feathered Pipe—the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation is having its 30th anniversary this year with a celebration at the Ranch on June 28th.
Can’t wait to celebrate at all these events together!
With love and gratitude,
Crystal Water

Pause Here Now – Jillian Pransky
For most of our lives, we’ve gotten the message that we have to get ahead — from our parents, from our teachers, from the media. We are a society of over-doers.
We are programmed to “do” a lot — it keeps us engaged and makes us feel productive and in control. Even when most of us “try” to relax, we go about it in a zealous, goal-oriented way.

Asana and Bhakti Yoga – Lara Warren
The whole point of Bhakti is to transform motivation from I”” to “thou”. Surrender selfish acts and replace them with the desire to give. When we truly practice “sustained subservience”, our actions become “actionless acts”, leaving no negative imprints, because they are no longer acting, but it is the Self acting through them.
