Dear Friends,
I’m so excited to say that we are kicking off the 2023 season at the Feathered Pipe Ranch. Between springtime snow flurries, several of our stellar team members have started opening up the Ranch and cleaning from top to bottom. At the end of the month, the first group will arrive!
We have a fantastic lineup this season and if you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late. Please check out this season’s retreats. A number are nearing or at capacity, but there is still time to join us!
Reclaim Your Body’s Wisdom: A Yoga And Writing Exploration Retreat, a new retreat offering has just been added! In this retreat, we'll combine yoga, writing, and creativity to access insights that have been hidden from us for years. With plenty of integration time and a relaxed pace, you can stabilize your understanding and solidify the insights you’ll
take home. Join De West and Cynthia Morris on this transformative journey towards self-discovery and embrace the wisdom of your body, August 19 - 25.
The airline tickets also seem to be dropping and becoming more affordable than they were in the winter, with some flights available at prices on par with pre-COVID rates, but it’s good not to wait too long to book as Helena is a small airport.
The Dandelion Effect
On our latest episode of the Dandelion Effect Podcast, we are excited to introduce you to Alison Zak. Alison is an author, yoga teacher, environmental educator and
anthropologist, and in her self-written bio, she also adds, importantly, that she is an animal. Her new book Wild Asana launches June 27th and is a delightful mix of wildlife science, Hindu mythology, Eastern philosophy, and personal stories that help us draw connections between our bodies, our minds, and the animals that inspire our practices.
Alison has a long history connecting with animals, and when her primate studies took her across the world to Indonesia, she learned firsthand how nuanced the relationship can be between humans and non-human animals, and she began to grasp the importance of deconditioning what we’re taught through society—that humans are superior and that other animals are only worth saving if they provide value to us. Join us for A Yogic Lens On Animal Conservation.
Inspired at Feathered Pipe
We added new items to our Inspired at Feathered Pipe pages - I Borrowed Your Eyes Again, Montana, a poem by Anne Jablosnki; Feathered Pipe
Island, a song by Matthew Marsolek; and Skye Farm, an instrumental song written by Jacob David Bradley and performed at the Feathered Pipe Ranch Labyrinth.
(As an aside, all three of these wonderful human beings will be at the Ranch at some point during the season and you may just get to meet them in person if you come.)
Inspired@Feathered Pipe is an ongoing community engagement project and we invite you to enjoy and to contribute.
Have you been inspired at Feathered Pipe and have music, art, or poetry you’d like to share? Please reach out to us inspired@featheredpipe.com
Hope to see you at the Ranch soon!
With love and gratitude,
Crystal Water

Now I’m Grown Up, Who Do I Want To Be? – Rhonda Waters
In the noise and chaos of daily life, it isn’t always an easy task to slow down, listen to your own thoughts and go deep. If you had a chance to write your own report card for life, what would matter the most? How would you define success in life? How would you want to show up for the most important people in your life?
